Happy 2nd Anniversary for Merry of August!

I can’t believe that my child already celebrated its 2nd anniversary!

Two years ago, in June 2020, I sat down to write my first blog post. As a start, I decided to write about blogging topics. Since then, I have written at least two blog posts a week for the past two years. I have found my rhythm and blogging has become part of my routine. To be honest, I still take a deep breath when I hit the publish button as it still feels a bit audacious to send my words off into the cyberworld.

Why Did I Begin Blogging?

I always love reading since childhood. I’m an introvert who loves staying at home than wandering outside. I thought I need to do something at home where I write down anything – from blogging, my dreams, my life experiences, and my hopes. Blogging was a great way to keep my ideas and thoughts flowing without worrying about criticism or feedback – both positive and negative.

Once the blog was set up back in June 2020, it was time to share it with others. I felt excited and freed from my fears as a beginner blogger. Then comments began to roll in – those warm welcome and support really helps me, especially during the pandemic. That day, I know that writing meant connecting.

Why Merry of August?

In early 2022, I rebranded Monodreame to Merry of August simply because I want to have my name as my blog. A name that can remind me of who I am and how grateful I am for everything I had now.

The word ‘Merry’ does not only represent my name but also reminds me that no matter difficult my life is, no matter how many negative things happened during my journey, I need to stay positive by looking at my achievements, happiness, joy, and bright moments in life.

And the word ‘August’ means the month of my birth. So, you can say that Merry of August means a lot to me because it shows everything in my life – my ups and downs. I plan to share stories of my life for many years. It’s simple and timeless, and it grows with me every day.

So Where Am I Today?

Through MOA, I’m able to be a more organized person, a more responsible human being, and share my thoughts and passions. The more I write and share my thoughts, the more I realize how much I enjoy writing to share and connect. Despite being busy with freelance life, I really love blogging and connecting with other bloggers.

To me, blogging isn’t simply about writing personally – it’s about sharing stories that add value to others’ lives and teaching us that our stories arent’s that different at all. It connects strangers as friends. It builds relationships. Blogging is such a powerful tool and I wish more people (non-bloggers) will understand its weight and value.

Thanks to my blog, I learned many amazing tools and worked with brands that I love.

There have been some unexpected moments. I am grateful that my blog has become recognized and widely read over the past two years. I often get a lot of comments and few messages. This has been the most amazing part of blogging for me. I love the feedback from others in my posts and they take me further in my own thinking.

Thank you so much for reading, following, and commenting. Thank you for being there on the very first day, in the present, and in the future. Without you, I wouldn’t be here and my journey as a content writer would continue to feel so lonely.

Thanks to all of you, I feel like I have friends who understand the other side of me, the introvert life that seemingly perfect life. I’m grateful I can connect with other beautiful souls that resonate with mine. I feel more whole.
