How is my blogging report in 2020?
2020 has been a rough year for everyone around the world. And I don’t want to talk or think back about everything that already happened in 2020.
For me, 2020 is a new start. I quit my office job (before the pandemic happened) and still doing freelance translator. It was great but I need something new other than working, reading, and watching.
Then I started my blog in June and learned everything from the scratch – without any help from everyone. I learned a lot by daily research, I kept researching every day how to start and grow my blog. I learned a lot about growing my Pinterest, increasing my blog’s traffic, promoting on social media, and of course – learning a bunch of SEO terms and stuff.
It’s really hard to do it alone when you know nothing from the start.
Day by day I kept learning and I was starting to engage with fellow bloggers on Twitter. I’ve met many friends from over the world and it’s a FANTASTIC feeling!
I have started to publish three articles in a week or so and also one of my pins on Pinterest went semi-viral. I was getting nearly 700+ views to my blog a week which is a good increase. This has now changed my blog strategy as well.
Also, I was ranking on the first page of google for a keyword!! YAY!! This gave me added impetus to put more effort into writing longer more keyword-focused articles and also focus more on SEO.
Firstly, I want to say thank you so much to all of my audiences and bloggers for supporting me in 2020! I hope you have enjoyed my articles this year. In 2021, I will be back with more lifestyle and personal growth topics
Blogging Report in 2020: Articles
My first blog post of 2020 was published on June 11 with 50+ Amazing Blog Name Ideas. I don’t put any post about the introduction on my blog.
My most popular blog post of 2020 is Increase Your Blog Traffic With These 12 Unique Tips – which was published on July 6 and now moved to my blogging blog, Cappuccino Cushy. It reaches over 150+ social media shares!

And “Keeping A Fresh Old Blog Posts: 4 Strategies that Work” post is still on the first page of Google (till this post is published!)

Well as of the time of writing I haveย 72ย articles published in 2020. Of those 72, I would say 5-9 need another improvement with added keywords, pictures, and more information. Optimizing these posts is something I am working on though.
If you’re curious about how I optimize my posts, check these articles: On-Page SEO, Off-Page SEO, and Technical SEO.
Blogging Report in 2020: Traffic
I have been working REALLY hard to increase my monthly pageviews from the very beginning. So, as a new blogger, to reach over 13,000+ page views in 7 months is a great achievement for me!

Blogging Report in 2020: Social Media

Twitter:
Since the beginning of launching my blog back in June, I have always focused and engaged more on Twitter every day. I have managed to get over 1,200+ followers in 2020. And would like to get over 2,500 in 2021!
Facebook:
I continuously promote my Facebook page both on Facebook groups and Twitter. In 2020, I manage to hit 350+ followers!
Instagram:
I use Instagram for personal purposes. I don’t promote my blog on my Instagram.
But, for the last 3 months, I pay more attention to my feed and engagements. I do my best to be consistent in posting at least 3 posts per week. And I’m so HAPPY to reach 850+ organic followers and interact more with fellow entrepreneurs/bloggers.
Pinterest:
I rarely use Pinterest before being a blogger. After launching my blog, Iโm learning new skills such as creating Pinterest pins and how to layout my profile, etc. If you are stuck with Pinterest then I would certainly suggest checking out my articles here.
I managed to reach 100k monthly unique views before. And I don’t use Tailwind at all – manually pinned daily.
However, since Pinterest’s algorithm had changed, it’s going down to 50k and now is 16k. I believe it is also because I don’t spend much time with Pinterest in the last few weeks.
At the time of writing, I have 170+ followers although this doesnโt generally lead to more views on Pinterest and is way less important a metric than it is on other social media sites.

Blogging Report in 2020: Income
I have made a few dollars from my affiliates and ads but my main goal is to increase traffic and improve SEO. Once this is done then the money comes after. I still need to organize all of my affiliates into one place and create more affiliates or sponsored articles.
I have had a fast start but a slow end to the year because of lots of things going on in my life but the last months have been so productive because for the first time I participated in BLOGMAS 2020. And I did it! I finished 25 posts for my blogmas project!
I am more focused on the tasks ahead and looking forward to making more progress this year.
I hope this blogging year report gives new bloggers an insight into how hard this is. However, I also hope it isnโt enough to put you off. If there are any things you would like to know about then please let me know in the comments section below.
2020 has been a productive blogging year and I canโt wait to see what 2021 brings! I really appreciate my audiences who have helped me make this possible!

Wow!!
This is inspiring!
I want to learn to utilize Pinterest cause I’ve heard a lot about it increasing views on blogs.
I have one question though. Do you think having a WordPress.com on my site http://www.sylviaideh.wordpress.com affects my sites reach?
Thank you, Sylvia! I have posted articles about Pinterest strategy, feel free the check it out ๐
I’d recommend you to go self-hosted to get more reach and if you want to monetize your blog, there are many benefits you can get from self-hosted than having a free one ๐
