GUEST POST | Today’s guest post will be all about how to find or create Christmas gifts on a budget. Christmas is about family and friends. You do not need to spend hundreds of pounds to put a smile on someoneโs face this Christmas! Buying Christmas gifts can be so difficult as everyone has different ideas on what would be their perfect gift!
After the uncertain year we have all had, everyone wants to make 2020 Christmas extra special. What better way to make someone smile than thoughtful Christmas presents?
I have put together a little guide of where to look for gifts and how you can help others with your Christmas shopping this year!
This post will show how you can shop on a budget or create Christmas gifts yourself for just a few pounds! Iโve split this post into two sections: Shopping Small and Local and Creating your Own Christmas Gifts to give you lots of ideas!
Shopping Small and Local
Small businesses need your help more than ever this year. Instead of going straight to a high street shop this year, why not look for a small business or local alternative? Small business owners appreciate your custom and you can often find presents that are thoughtful and personalised when shopping small!
Have you ever heard of Etsy? Etsy is an online store similar to eBay or Amazon but with small, independent businesses. You can find innovative and customisable gifts from thousands of different small businesses across the country. I discovered Etsy last year and I have been hooked ever since. I often send gifts from Etsy straight to my friends who live far away for their birthdays.
There are talented small creators on Etsy that are waiting to be discovered and a sale would make their day. I have created a little small business stocking filler gift guide including some of my favourite small businesses and products.
AlicexLizzy
Alice at AlicexLizzy creates beautiful clay earrings at super affordable prices. I wear my earrings all the time and there are so many different colours and styles to choose from-something for everyone! I think they would make the perfect stocking filler or Secret Santa gift!
Aubrey Bay
One of my personal favourite small businesses is Aubrey Bay! Amy creates sophisticated candles and essential oils and each one smells amazing. My personal favourite scent is Lychee Peony. I think Aubrey Bay candles would make the perfect gift for a special lady in your life.
If you want to learn more about Aubrey Bay, I have previously written an Aubrey Bay Review over on my blog. They smell incredible and would make the perfect Christmas stocking filler.ย ย
Copper Cup
Copper Cup is a small business creating handmade copper home accessories and gifts! I love the idea of these hoops; they are so creative and innovative. The hoops are also letterbox friendly and would make the perfect gift to send to someone who lives far away or as a cute stocking filler. The business personalises your hoop however you would like and would perfect in every room.
Create Your Own Christmas Gift
Money is tight at the moment and often homemade gifts are the most appreciated. I love receiving homemade gifts from my younger cousins, it warms my heart every year. Iโve created a list of some homemade Christmas presents that have gone down a treat for me in the past. My favourite part of Christmas is seeing the smiles on my families faces when I give them presents and homemade gifts are always the best.
Family Photo Album
Last year I created a photo album for my mum with all our familyโs favourite memories from the past few years and she cried her eyes out. I think itโs a lovely way to show someone how much you care about them and it takes minimal effort.
You can order pictures from so many different websites and photo albums cost a few pounds. If you wanted to get creative, you could make a scrapbook and write down some of your best memories and use different patterns on each page.
Mason Jar Snow Globes
I would say this one is for the children, but I absolutely love making these! They are again super easy to craft and create and again massively affordable. There are so many ways you can create a mason jar snow globe, some more advanced than others but they can make a super cute gift. You can even put your own little picture or message in the middle
Christmas Card Crafts
For years I have said I am going to create my own Christmas Cards and this year is the year I am determined to do it. I think thereโs something special about receiving a homemade card. It shows lots of care and effort has been put into a Christmas present when it arrives with a homemade Christmas Card. You can get a Christmas Card Making Kit or simply create a card from scratch, but I think itโs very thoughtful.
I hope this post has given you some inspiration for Christmas presents this year. There are so many ways to make Christmas presents special and thoughtful without spending too much money. Always remember every single gift is appreciated and no matter what your budget is a gesture goes a long way. I hope you all have the most wonderful Christmas and New Year!

Aw great guest post ๐ I think shopping small and local is so important, and I really love these suggestions!
Great list! I love that you went over some small businesses but you also included the fact that we can make our own special gifts for each other. I always like to make gift baskets but on occasion I will hand-make my own.
