It’s hard to take the first step towards becoming the best version of yourself. There are many paths, and it can be overwhelming trying to figure out where to start.
There are so many different ways to grow as a person. You can learn new skills, read books, travel the world, or even just spend more time with your family and friends. But if you’re struggling to find inspiration on how to do it all – don’t worry!

What is personal growth?
Personal growth is the process of becoming a more complete and self-actualized person. It often includes developing traits such as maturity, responsibility, self-esteem, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
Some people grow in one area; others may grow in all areas. Growth can be spiritual or physical or both. Personal growth usually starts with an awareness that something needs to change. It involves obstacles and failures, but also self-discovery and new knowledge.
7 Meaningful Way to Grow as a Person
1. Be yourself
The most meaningful way to grow as a person is to find out who you really are and do whatever makes you happy. It sounds pretty simple, but it can be hard taking that first step towards being ourselves because we may fear the judgment of others.
Like many people, I grew up wanting to please others and wear different masks in order to fit in. I was constantly looking for validation from others to make me feel better about myself
It wasn’t until I moved halfway across the world that I started to take the time out of my busy schedule to prioritize what makes me happy, rather than doing things because society told me it was the ‘cool’ thing to do. And you know what? The world didn’t end!
2. Practice forgiveness
Forgiveness isn’t about letting people off the hook for what they’ve done to hurt you; it’s about taking away their power over you.
If someone has hurt you, then it’s important that you process those feelings and don’t act on them in negative ways (such as revenge). Holding on to anger and resentment does no good for anyone.
Forgiveness doesn’t take away the mistakes that people have made, but it does make you a stronger person by moving forward from those experiences.
3. Give back
Giving back is a great way to explore your passions and talents, while also giving something positive back to the world. It doesn’t always have to be about donating money or time either, it could be as simple as making someone smile when they are having a tough day.
It’s important that you share what you are good at with the world. You never know how much it could benefit someone else!
4. Don’t be afraid to try new things
I’m not the type of person that likes to play it safe and stick with what I know, however, I used to be! But growing as a person involves getting out of your comfort zone.
It’s really important to challenge yourself by trying something new every once in a while. It might be taking up boxing classes, learning how to dance, or going on a travel adventure all by yourself.
You never know when a new skill or a passion for something will come in handy, and it’s fun to try new things!
5. Take responsibility
No one is on this earth to make you happy. We all have the right to pursue happiness, but ultimately it’s up to us to create it for ourselves
Taking responsibility for our lives doesn’t mean that we are always in control of what happens; sometimes bad things do happen. But it means that we will action these unfortunate events in a positive way by taking a step back and thinking about how we can improve the situation.
6. Never stop learning
It’s important to keep growing as a person by taking the time to learn new things. We can explore these concepts through our studies, reading books, listening to podcasts, or even through TED Talks.
By learning new things, we can expand our personal knowledge and enhance our problem-solving skills. It also helps to open up new opportunities for ourselves.
7. Make time for yourself
While it’s important to explore new things and learn from your experiences, it’s also important that you take time out of each day to enjoy the little things.
We get so wrapped up in our work and the responsibilities of life, that we often forget to do what makes us happy. Whether it’s going for a walk on the beach or reading a book with a cup of tea, make sure that you give yourself some time each day to relax and recharge your batteries
Growing as a person can be difficult, but it can also be an exciting experience! You never know where it might lead you or what opportunities will come your way.
