Being a freelancer or self-employed individual often feels like juggling work and money, doesn’t it? But what if I told you there’s a magical tool out there to make this whole circus act a breeze?
Last month, I was searching for a Blogger contract template. I stumbled upon an all-in-one tool called Hello Bonsai—a tool that will help me manage my freelance translator and content writer jobs.
But hold your horses, because Bonsai isn’t your average sidekick. No siree! It’s the Robin to your Batman, the peanut butter to your jelly. It’s got everything you need, and then some! Contracts? Check. Proposals? You got it. Invoices, online payments, forms, accounting, tax tools? Bonsai’s got your back!
And for someone who occasionally gets lost in the labyrinth of digital clutter and can’t save files to save her life, Hello Bonsai is my digital savior. No more endless clicking through folders and apps; it’s a one-stop-shop for staying organized and reclaiming precious time!
I haven’t used Bonsai in years, but here are some honest reviews about them for some features I used.
Contract Templates
Inking long-term partnerships with brands is my jam! But, you know what’s even better? Having a contract template that’s as crystal clear as a mountain spring.
Hello Bonsai has ready templates for the contract that I want. A good contract doesn’t need a dozen of pages. From what I know, good contracts focus on three critical points: work scope, payment terms, and intellectual property. Therefore, my contract only has 2-3 pages.
No matter your gig – be it translating, blogging, influencing, designing, or any other hustle – you’ve got the power to tailor your templates to fit your specific services. Contracts are your safeguard, shielding you from legal quagmires and ensuring that every project cruises along smoothly. They’re not just pieces of paper; they’re blueprints for success. That’s why, for every project you undertake, having a dedicated contract is an absolute game-changer.
Invoice Templates
Apart from contracts, Bonsai also serves up some nifty invoice templates that’ll make your financial life a breeze. Their invoicing system is a payment powerhouse, welcoming PayPal, Stripe, credit cards, and more to the party.
But here’s the real kicker: Hello Bonsai is all about that sweet integration game. Your contracts and invoices are like peanut butter and jelly, working hand in hand. Your clients get those invoices like clockwork, complete with friendly reminders for those who might’ve lost track of time.
Oh, and speaking of time, you can flex your financial muscles by setting late fee percentages, nudging your clients to stay on top of their game. In a nutshell, Bonsai is your wingman to help you do more, work less, and make sure those payments roll in right on schedule!
With this tool, if you’re an editor or translator doing the job by the hour, you can automatically set the invoices based on your hourly rate. No need to worry when you’re forgetting something, because Bonsai also provides you an overview of your earnings and workflows.
Accounting and Taxes
When it comes to managing your financial kingdom as a freelancer or self-employed pro, Hello Bonsai isn’t just a run-of-the-mill tool—it’s the ultimate sidekick you’ve been waiting for. Bonsai is your all-in-one tax superhero. It swoops in to help you prep for tax season like a pro, even tossing you friendly reminders about those dreaded payment deadlines.
Bonsai is like your personal tax wizard, helping you navigate the treacherous waters of deductions and tax savings. So, while you’re busy hustling and making bank, Bonsai’s got your back on the financial front!

In 2020, Hello Bonsai launched a Self Employment Tax Hub to help freelancers with a self-employed tax calculator, tax deductions by work type, and a free ebook.
Task Management
If you’re the kind of go-getter who likes to stay on top of tasks and deadlines, Hello Bonsai’s got a little treat in store for you—task management!
Whether you’re a blogger or a freelance powerhouse, juggling clients and projects can feel like herding cats. Prioritizing tasks, keeping tabs on time spent, and setting deadlines can be a Herculean feat. Bonsai’s task management feature swoops in like a caped crusader to save the day. It’s your trusty sidekick, helping you slice through the chaos of multiple projects and demanding clients. With Bonsai, you’ve got the power to master your time management game like never before!
With Bonsai, I can do all of these:
- Create & e-sign free contracts from templates.
- Integrate my time tracker with my workflow.
- Smart invoices & integrated payments to ensure timely payments.
- Create & track expenses and reporting templates.

Wrapping Up
So far, I found Bonsai really help me with my job as a translator and blogger. I need to track my daily to-do list, send proposals to potential clients, create invoices and track them so I get paid on time, track my monthly income and expenses, and many more. I didn’t want to lose all the data I had on different software so Bonsai makes everything pretty easy.
Having everything in one place can help improve my business professionally. Moreover, I feel secure with my job because I have contracts between me and my clients. So I highly recommend Bonsai to any bloggers and freelancers.

I am a freelance content writer since the pandemic hit. I think this is a great tool for freelance writers esp we need to manage everything at hand.
