With this current situation, I am trying to be more productive this year. Believe it or not, I haven’t been out of home for more than 3 weeks! My body started to get sick from work, and I spent all day in front of the laptop to work, watch, read, and blogging …. but I’m used to it because, you know, I’m a homebody.
Please stay safe and healthy wherever you are.
So, without further ado, here are the things that you can do at home, small things, but yeah …you can enjoy it~
Clean up your space
You can start from your work or study desk, start from a small place, and then slowly clean and tidy up your wardrobe, bed, room, kitchen, and home. You don’t have to do everything at once. You can do it in stages. This morning you cleaned your study desk; tomorrow you’ll clean your wardrobe, and so on. You’re the boss; you decide what you want to clean.
Organize files, folders, stationary, phone
Organize files or folders on your laptop to make them look more presentable and easy to find.
Clean up your cellphone gallery, delete unneeded photos (which can save memory and don’t make your phone slow down), organize the images into the appropriate folder, and back up your files, photos, and videos online.
Clean up your stationery and your desk so you can feel more comfortable during your work or study time.
Self-care: hair treatment, mask, scrub
This is what I regularly do.
A woman is certainly required to take care of themselves, not only to look beautiful but to maintain their health. I use face masks 3–4 times a week, usually in the morning. The coffee fragrance is my best choice because I love the smell of coffee and it’s natural too.
I also go to the beauty salon twice a month, just to treat my long hair. Even though I diligently wash my hair, having long hair isn’t easy—geez! I don’t do facial treatments anywhere. My skin is kind of sensitive. I only use skincare that matches my skin.
If you can’t go out during this time, you can buy treatment products at a trusted store and use them at home when you have free time.
Family time
For those of you who previously always worked from 9 to 5 and rarely had time with family, you can use the current situation to chat more often or do small things at home with your loved ones.
I rarely talk to my mother at home about anything serious; I don’t discuss work problems or anything personal about myself. But now we even talk about the smallest things: watching TV together, accompanying my mother’s cooking, and doing small things together that we might never have done before.
Read books or watch your fave movie
I have loved reading since I was a child, especially novels, comics, and western magazines. I believe I have more than 100 novels and comic books. Until now I still liked reading; sometimes every 3 months I would go to the bookstore to buy some novels, and sometimes I would just wander there for 2 hours or more and buy less than 3 books. I really love the view of the bookstore, where the books are lined up—everywhere, that vibe makes me feel happy.
Every day I also spend my time reading online stories; my favorite is Wattpad. Watching dramas and movies is my favorite thing to do during my break. My favorite genre is horror. I also watch Chinese and Korean dramas, especially those that have a thriller, horror, or history plot. I’m not that into romance, actually.

Do your hobby
If you have a hobby—because I know some people don’t have one—you can do your hobby to get rid of boredom while at home.
If you like cooking, you can try various kinds of recipes or experiment with new recipes. If you like writing, you can create stories and post them on blogs or online platforms and make money from them.
In fact, there are many things you can do at home, but only if you try to enjoy them.
Youtube
Now many people have turned to YouTube, to make cooking videos, tell horror stories, share their daily routines, etc. There are many inspirations you can get from YouTube: from making crafts, making life more productive, creating new food recipes, etc. You can either learn from it or create new content and become a YouTube creator.
Blogging
This is what I always do when I’m done working: I’ll take the time to write on my blog, working on the blog’s draft, design, or whatever that is.
Writing down what you like and what’s on your mind helps your brain continue to be trained. Because English is not my first language, you are especially assisting me in furthering my English skills.
Write a Story/Article
I think this is the same as writing on a blog, but when I write stories, I do it when I really want to do it or when there are ideas hanging around in my brain.
For those of you who like to write stories, it’s not impossible for you to post your stories on platforms like Wattpad. In addition to expressing your ideas, you can get acquainted with writers and readers and exchange ideas, and there can also be publishers who are interested in your story. You can publish your book and earn money on your own.
Exercise
Sitting in front of the laptop for hours always makes my body stiff, especially when I don’t stretch or exercise. I often get back pain after taking a nap, and I’m also the type of person who is lazy to exercise, even though I’m still young and exercise is very important.
I usually do light exercise at home in the morning, take my dog for a few minutes’ walk, or just run with my dogs. Many people go to the gym or exercise, but I prefer to do light things. The important thing is that my muscles are not stiff.
All of the above is based on the experiences that I have had in the past few years. In fact, there are many things you can do at home in this situation. Other than studying dan working online, you can also clean up your places, spend quality time for yourself and your loved ones, read books that haven’t you read, learn to cook from YouTube, make youtube content, craft, journal, etc.
There are tons of productive things you can do at home. When I get bored, I switch to the other one. Watching a new movie or series always helps me overcome my boredom.
Do you have any recommendations? What do you usually do at home to increase your productivity?
