Looking for the best time to travel to Bali? Then you’re coming in the right place.
I was born and live in Bali. For me, Bali is a magical place. It’s one of the world’s most captivating destinations. I’m so proud to live here. It’s a place with so much to offer, from the jungle surrounding Ubud (largely considered Bali’s cultural center – the cultural heart of Bali) to the beaches lining its southern shore.
Balinese resorts have earned a legendary reputation as the ultimate places for hospitality, relaxation, and pampering. You can make your Bali vacation whatever you want it to be – a backpacker destination, a hiking adventure, a spiritual journey, a yoga retreat, a wedding and honeymoon plan, or all of the above.
Ultimately, how you choose to define your Balinese adventure is entirely up to you — and you may not know exactly what you want out of your experience until you arrive on the island.
One of the best ways to set yourself up for success is to head to the island at the right time. There are two seasons in Bali: the wet season (November – March) and the dry season (April – October). The average temperature doesn’t fluctuate much throughout the year, hovering around 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
However, humidity is an important variable when it comes to Bali weather. The humidity increases significantly during the wet season, making it muggier and — let’s be honest — sweatier.

It’s a fact: There’s never a bad time to visit Bali because we don’t have four seasons here. But certain months of the year might offer you a better experience than others, based on the seasons and the weather, as well as your budget and preferences.
Most tourists take advantage of Bali’s dry season to spend long days in the sun at the beach. However, there are also some compelling benefits to visiting during the rainy season — after all, that’s when prices drop; the rice paddies get that dreamy, misty atmosphere; and the waterfalls surge.

Best Time to Travel to Bali
The best time to travel to Bali is during the dry season, which runs from April – October. This weather in Bali during this time of year gives tourists the climate they need to enjoy some of the best beaches in Indonesia, and take part in outdoor adventures, like hiking Mount Batur and cliff jumping.
The average temperature in Bali is 25 degrees Celsius throughout the year. During the dry season, tourists are treated to beautiful beach weather, with average daily temperatures in the high 20s. The months of April – October is the least humid time of year in Bali. The rain usually won’t last all day, though, and it gives the landscape a distinctive tropical lushness. It’s a smart idea to pack an umbrella and rain jacket, just in case.
In recent years, the island has received between 450,000 and 625,000 visitors each month of the dry season. People from around the world come to Bali during its dry season to take advantage of the vacation-friendly weather. Hotel prices start climbing in April, eventually peaking in July or August and slowly falling until the holidays in December. However, you can find hotels with affordable prices in Bali – adjust to your budget and preferences.
One issue that is really important when you visit Indonesia; you should be aware of the traffic. Road traffic here can be notoriously bad, causing even modest journeys to drag on for hours. Try to avoid excessive car travel if you’re visiting Bali during the dry season and if you do need to get around the island, most of my foreign friends will prefer to rent a scooter, and here are some rules when renting and driving in Bali.
Despite the crowds and traffic, Bali is a wonderful place to travel from April through October. The destination offers tons of sunshine, a gentle breeze, warm azure seawater, and minimal humidity during the dry season.

Hope you can visit Bali in the future, Lynn 😀
I would absolutely love to visit Bali! It’s high on my bucket list. I live in Australia and it’s where everyone goes. As much as I hate the rain, I think with the less crowds, and cheaper accommodation I would be tempted to visit around this time. I can always cool off in the ocean or the hotel pool 🙂
Yes, we have a lot of Australians here! Always love to welcome you here, Lindsay 😀

Bali is my no1 travel destination that I want to go to. I’ve been obsessed ever since I saw my friends holiday photos. It’s good to know about the dry season. I’d love to go in the wet and dry season so I can really experience it. But I don’t think I’ll manage to go twice in my life!
If you want to experience the wet and dry season, you can come around January-March or December-February. There is still rain in January, though not very often 🙂
This is awesome! I think traffic won’t affect the excitement of visiting the place because could be traffic at any place unless it’s small.
There is not too much traffic in Bali if you use a scooter/bike. But you have to watch out for drivers because some people here don’t obey traffic rules 🙂
Bali looks like an amazing place to travel to and a place I’d love to visit one day. Thanks for letting me know the best time of year to travel. Thanks for sharing.

If someone gave me a ticket to go to Bali at any time, I’d bite their arm off for it. My cousin went to Bali a couple of years ago and loved it. Her photos are gorgeous, the views, the people, the aesthetics. Get me on that plane now!
