[A collaboration post – all thoughts are my own]

For some people, it’s not easy to be organized on a daily basis. I started to be more organized after working remotely. But sometimes it’s hard to actually be organized because I’m a forgetful person. Being an organized person means you know where everything you need is and generally being prepared. I like to prepare something the night before, while others like to prepare days before the day.
You might not be able to feel 100 percent organized every minute of every day, but by forming good organizational habits and establishing a daily routine, you can definitely feel more organized most of the time. Here are some ways to improve your daily routine so you can feel more organized.
Leave your keys and phone in the same spot
I like to leave my keys in my bag or pocket. When I’m going outside, I put the key in my bag but sometimes I’m just forgetful and can’t find it (I like to use bags with a lot of pockets). At home, we have a place to leave all kinds of keys. You can have a spot in your entryway for keys so you are never running around, late for work, wondering where your keys are hiding.
Create a task list
Before working remotely, I never make a to-do list. I use my work routine and things can get really messy after that. Only after I start to take my freelance career seriously, do I make a new to-do list every day based on the previous day’s list and anything that came up since the last list was created.
Having a task list helps me to track the progress of my translation projects, such as how many words should I translate on a certain day and which client I need to follow up on today or tomorrow. Not only will this help keep me on top of my translation service, but it will also make me feel productive when I check off that task after it’s been completed.
Check your bank balance
Although I don’t do this every day, but I do a quick scan of my checking and savings accounts 3-4 times a week. I don’t use a credit card and only have two bank accounts. I usually withdraw an amount of money for weekly spending and use cash on a daily basis. This way I can save more and not always swipe my card every time I want to buy something. Keeping an eye on your financial accounts allows you to see what you spent the previous week so spending doesn’t get out of control. It also allows you to notice fraudulent charges as soon as they happen.

Declutter your wallet
I just declutter my wallet and it is filled with receipts from cafes, business cards, etc. I have many membership cards that I don’t use very often, so make sure to put the ones you use the most front and center. Don’t forget to remove any loose change and store it in a jar. There’s no need to carry around the extra weight.
Do the dishes
Personally, I don’t like seeing piles of dishes in the sink. Since I was a kid, my mother taught me to immediately wash the plates or glasses after eating so they wouldn’t pile up. If you cook most weeknights, make sure the dishes are done every night before you go to bed. Many people will tell you to make your bed every morning to start your day off right. And this can help set a positive tone for the day.
Follow a routine
I think having a routine is a must and it’s vital for me as a freelancer. It’s like a daily pattern, right? I mean if you follow a routine or plan, you know what stuff to get done and when you will be able to do it. After years of following a routine, I’m able to be organized on a daily basis, and doing something every day will make your brain happy and help create good daily habits.
What do you usually do in order to be organized on a daily basis? Do you have more tips that can be added here? Let me know yours below.

Yes! Clearing out my wallet and washing up are such good additions to this list; I feel like if I have things in order in this way then I can focus on other things. Fab post!
Awesome! Thanks for reading Molly 😀
Yaaaas! Doing the dishes and decluttering your wallet are key! I used to find doing dishes so boring until I recently started doing them while watching stand up comedy.
That’s great! Thanks for stopping by 😀
Great tips for living a more streamlined and organized life! I like how you prevent yourself from paying with card 24/7, I do the same as well! Except I’m not keeping cash on me, I just don’t bring my wallet lol. This helps me budget + avoid cluttering my purse or bag with receipts. Thanks for the post! x
Nice idea, Jordan 😀 Thanks for reading x

Love to hear that 😀 Thanks, Elle x
Such great ideas! Making lists is what usually really helps me, I still struggle with a routine as I juggle different jobs at the moment, but managing to have a routine would really help in being productive too x
