[A collaboration post – all thoughts are my own.]

Pre-pandemic, not many businesses realized they had the potential of attracting foreign customers. Not many companies use the advantage of business translation and social media to promote their products. And now, I witnessed that all businesses are taking place online (I could find anything at an online shop), which means many businesses are now going global.
To start selling globally, the first thing the business has to do is to find someone professional to make their content readable to foreign clients. I find there are many companies in Bali looking for social media managers, SEO experts, and IT who can speak English fluently and make content for them. Because starting a global business means that you have to be culturally sensitive and people should have a solid understanding of the specific industry.
As a translator myself, it’s important that when you need a translator for your business, make sure that the company works only with human translators. A professional translator will work in their own language, for example, I will generate copy that will precisely replicate your business’s message in the Indonesian language as well as the style of the actual text.
Well, you know, while there are translation tools available online, it is crucial to choose a translation service provider that uses humans for translation. The human brain is necessary to differentiate terms in context.
Why business translation is so important?
As a blogger and translator, I need to communicate and understand my clients or fellow bloggers in their language. For example, it’s easier for me to write and talk in my mother tongue than in English, that’s why I have a free website that shows my translation skill from English to Indonesian. But my clients won’t understand the service that I’m offering in my language. And that’s the reason why the most of visitors are from Indonesia and I might have lost a potential client because of it.
After creating this website, where I write in English and where my clients or visitors understand what I’m talking about, the contents of it, etc. If I have shown everything in my client’s language, they will understand what I’m offering. I got most clients from LinkedIn or other translation platforms and they also check my websites. That’s why I think having a website also helps my translation career.

From my experience, when dealing with foreigners, it is very easy that your message might be misunderstood. This could be due to unclear pronunciation or limited knowledge of the target language. I’ve had this kind of experience before because I wasn’t confident with English pronunciation which made some words unclear or mispronounced.
Hence I need to take care of my pronunciation and keep a close eye on the translated content. Sometimes a translated message may mean something else in another language. This is why sometimes I need to focus to make the message represent to the locals of that country.
Interpretation, translation, or caption services are now so much in demand. Almost every day company are looking for Chinese or Korean translators for their long-term projects. So translation services also help in creating job opportunities and are in fact services that can be done anytime, anywhere.
A professional translation company will be willing to extend (expanding its brand) its services to international clients, therefore they need numerous translators/interpreters/linguists/etc in the specific industry. If you’re a blogger who speaks more than one language (bilingual or multilingual) you may consider a career as a translator and adding another income to your life!

Covid has slaughtered many misconceptions regarding remote working, and I like it. (not corona, remote working).
