Bloggers of July 2022
Hi, Merries – my MOA visitors! How was your June? Do you have any exciting plans for this July?
I’m so excited this month because it means a month left to welcome my birthday month, August!
The beginning of June was the hardest for me because we (Balinese) had a big ceremony and it lasted for two weeks! I had to drive for hours from here and there for three days straight and it was very physically exhausting. I really had no breaks in between but the good thing about this ceremony is that I’m able to meet my relatives (like every 6 months) and gives me an excuse to have a digital detox (haha)!
When we were back in the city, I and my mom visited the Bali Art Festival 2022, which is held annually in Bali. It is the cultural highlight of the year (a grand event celebrating Balinese culture), where for a whole month all aspects of art are on display.
Every year, the festival holds a different theme. The theme for 2022 is “Glorifying the Water of the Source of Life”, bringing awareness to the role and importance of water in Bali. Tourists visiting Bali around June and July can consider themselves lucky. It is the best place to witness aspects of local culture otherwise difficult to see or find around the island, as all agglomerate in this one destination.
I also celebrated MOA’s 2nd Anniversary in June and had a short trip to Ubud with my bestie. We had delish food, enjoyed the beautiful scenery, and visited one of the popular cafes for foreigners in Ubud. We promise to plan a trip once a month to take a break from our freelance life. In fact, there are many beautiful places in Bali that I haven’t visited yet!
And now, in July, I’m trying to better at balancing my work – personal life. I also want to be more active in maintaining healthy skin because some time ago my allergies came back so I have to be careful with food and also the unpredictable weather in Bali.
